The selection of profiles should consider functional requirements and be chosen from the catalog of door and window series products.
(1) The opening method is unified in the series of products, including the profile section and accessories, during installation. When selecting profiles according to the opening method of the window, it is important to pay attention to whether they are open inward or outward, whether they are pushed left and right or pulled up and down. Choose profiles specifically designed for this type of opening method based on the different opening methods.
(2) The heat transfer coefficient K of the window is determined by both the heat transfer coefficient of the door and window frame and the heat transfer coefficient of the glass. To comprehensively consider and achieve the required heat transfer coefficient.
The heat transfer coefficient of commonly used aluminum alloy profiles and glass can be found in section 3.4.2 for insulation performance design.
(3) The sound insulation performance of doors and windows (Rw+Crt, or Rw+C) depends on the window frame structure, glass structure, and glass inlay method.
(4) The glass inlay method, glass weight, and thickness affect the selection of door and window frame profiles and accessories. The slot width of window frames and fan profiles should be able to accommodate the thickness of the glass and the sealing materials on both sides of the glass.
(5) The selected materials for wind resistance should be able to meet the wind resistance requirements of doors and windows. You can first choose based on experience, and then perform wind pressure verification. If the window is used in high-rise buildings or if the window size is large, calculate the wind pressure resistance performance.
